The National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) stopped a process to purchase weapons, in the face of possible irregularities. It also filed a criminal complaint. The award was made last September, but the administrative contracting processes were reviewed.
According to the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE), the executive director of SINAC, Grettel Vega, filed a complaint with the courts to analyze the possible irregularity. Haydée Rodríguez, deputy minister of environment and director ai at SINAC, said the findings warranted rapid action.
