Officers from the National Coast Guard Service (SNG) saved a boy and a teenager from drowning in Caldera Beach, Puntarenas.
The strong waves turned into a trap for a 9-year-old and a 16-year-old teenager, who were enjoying the sea next to several other people.
The boys lost control and sank suddenly right in front of family and friends, who pleaded for help. To their fortune, a Coast Guard patrol boat was near, and he officers jumped and to rescue them.
While fighting with the waves, their patrol partners coordinated with the Red Cross to send an ambulance, which transferred the minors to the Monsignor Sanabria Hospital in Puntarenas, where they received specialized treatment.
The coastguard reminded citizens to take the necessary security measures when they reach an area they do not know.
