President Luis Guillermo Solís spoke loud and clear about his counterpart from Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, who mentioned the possibility to meet and smooth things over.
Solís thinks it is positive what Ortega wants to do in order to improve bilateral relations, however, to see that as a real situation, he wants facts.
Therefore, he was emphatic when affirming that the 6-million-colones compensation for damage in Calero Island and the withdrawal of military troops from Costa Rican territory, are the 2 actions that Nicaragua should carry out so Costa Rica can believe Ortega’s words.
The possibility to meet won’t take place soon since Solís won’t get distracted from reconstructing the areas affected by Hurricane Otto.
