President Luis Guillermo Solís condemned people’s thousands of comments when it was announced that several schools would sing the anthem of Nicaragua to celebrate the closure of the civic month.
According to the president, singing the national anthems of different countries should be a constant activity in Costa Rica, as it was many years ago when he was a child.
Solís believes that it would generate a higher culture among the population and it would allow people to value the history of each of the countries to better appreciate Costa Rica’s.
When I was a child, there was a little book called “What people sing in Costa Rica.” It included all the anthems of Central American countries and it taught us how to sing them,
declared Solís.
According to the president, he sings the anthems of Colombia, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, as well as La Marseillaise, the anthem of the United States and even the one from Israel, that is in Hebrew.
