From January 16th to 18th, president Luis Guillermo Solís will be in the UAE, where his primary objective is to achieve financial support to address the problem of water in areas affected by Hurricane Otto.
This was made clear by the President on Tuesday afternoon, at the press conference after the Governing Council, noting that he has a series of clear requests.
The most important is the issue of aqueducts, mainly because water is what we need the most in those areas and we will seek that support,”
said Solís.
The president emphasized that it is very difficult to talk about figures on what might be needed to solve this issue, and it would be risky to announce an amount without knowing the disposition of the authorities of the Emirates.
The President will travel with Foreign Minister Manuel González, Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, and the director of PROCOMER, Pedro Beirute.
In addition to the request for financial funds, the visit will open a new embassy of Costa Rica in Abu Dhabi and a sales office in Dubai.
The delegation, headed by the President, will return to Costa Rica on January 19th at night.
