On October 5th, Universidad Latina is going to host a Job Fair for people with disabilities. The Participating companies will offer 500 jobs and 800 people are expected to attend the fair.
The fair is supported by the Business Association for Development (AED), FUNDAMECO and the Ministry of Labor, which made a direct invitation to 2,000 people.
People should submit neat and legible documentation,
just a regular résumé, as any other person (…) we recommend people provide both digital and printed résumés, since every company has different mechanisms to collect them,”
explained María Fernanda Cordero, Universidad Latina’s head of employments.
The activity will be at San Pedro campus from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will be for free. There will be volunteers and maps to help all attendees.
Cinthya Araya, FUNDAMECO’s spokeswoman, recommended people pay attention to the presentation of the documents.
People must deliver the documents in a neat, clean way, without any wrinkle, if it is sent in digital format, use a PDF format instead of a Word format. Including the kind of disability is not going to make any difference because we’re going to focus on the person’s skills and abilities,
declared Araya.
The fair will be attended by more than 30 companies such as: Amazon, Young 360, Akamai Technologies, Accenture, Boston Scientific, Credomatic, Cinépolis, Ríos Tropicales, Popular Pensiones, VM Ware, Reto Juvenil, SCA, Pizza Hut, Grupo Monge, LAICA, Concentrix, Convergys, Marriot, Tacobell, Spoon, AMPM, Sykes, Telefónica, FIFCO, Cognizant, Megasuper Corporation, Procter and Gamble, Grupo Mutual, Resources, Intercultura, and Lafise.
From 452 thousand people in the country who have some kind of disability, 63% are occupationally inactive.
