In order to assist thousands of patients from different medical centers in the country, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) had to use more than one billion colones from its Emergency Fund.
According to the administrative management of the institution, they have invested money in the purchase of disposable clothes, laundry, extra time, fuel, transportation, and laboratory and pharmaceutical products.
Monseñor Sanabria Hospital in Puntarenas is one of the facilities where more money has been invested in, with is 108 million for extra time, substitute personnel, fuel, food and transportation.
The total amount is ₡1,116,644,860, which has been distributed among hospitals such as: Mexico, National Geriatrics and Gerentology, San Juan de Dios, Escalante Pradilla, Carlos Luis Valverde Vega, National Children, Monseñor Sanabria, and Health Areas in Osa, Pérez Zeledón and Chacarita.
