Strike in the Social Protection Board is illegal

The Social Protection Board (JPS) is the sixth public institution in which the strike called by the unions against the tax reform was declared illegal. This was resolved by the judge of the Labor Court of the First Judicial Circuit of San José, Siany Barboza.

On September 26th, the judge determined the strike violates two requirements established in the Labor Code and ordered the unions to pay one million colones for personal and procedural costs.

This Wednesday the executive president of the CNP, Rogis Bermúdez, requested salary reductions in a timely manner for the officials of the institution that participated in the strike.
