On Monday, a strong earthquake hit Dota at 10:59 a.m.
According to the report of the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of the National University (Ovsicori-UNA), the quake had a magnitude of 3.8 and it was located 11.0 km North of Santa María, Dota, in San José, at a depth of only five kilometers.
The preliminary report indicates that the movement was perceived in the areas of San José, Guarco in Cartago and some other sectors of the Greater Metropolitan Area.
At 11:01 a new 3.0-magnitude movement was registered in the same area.
