Strong earthquake shook several areas of the country

On Wednesday afternoon, the country was shaken by an earthquake.
A strong earthquake was felt today at 4:27 pm

The National Seismological Network indicates that the quake registered at 4:27 p.m. and it had a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was 12 kilometers east of Savegre, located in Quepos, with a depth of 49 kilometers.

The Seismology Laboratory at the University of Costa Rica indicates that the movement had a magnitude of 4.3, at a depth of 59 kilometers and 3.7 kilometers northwest of Pasito Savegre de Aguirre, Puntarenas.

Also, seismologist Javier Pacheco from the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) said that the tremor’s magnitude was 4.6 and agreed that it affected Quepos.

The telluric movement was felt by residents of Escazú, Sabana, San Rafael de Heredia, San Isidro de Pérez Zeledón, Desamparados, Curridabat and Puntarenas, as well as in other areas of the country.
