Students from the University of Costa Rica (UCR) are preparing their next summer vacation: they will organize camps in Upala, an area affected by hurricane Otto.
The main objective is that children in the area have other support that goes beyond the school cafeterias while adults are still reconstructing housing and services.
We know that children have a support network from school cafeterias, but they require other kind of help, so that their parents can be more relaxed during the reconstruction process,
declared Lorena Sáenz, coordinator of the Team of Psychosocial Care at The UCR.
Since the tragedy, employees and students from the University of Costa Rica have participated in the recovery efforts.
Their last intervention consisted of cultural activities such as dance, puppet workshops, mimes and a parade.
