The San José Criminal Court imposed six months of preventive arrest against six men suspected of putting explosive devices in the Legislative Assembly and outside Teletica Canal 7.
The Court imposed that measure on Miguel Guitérrez Pizarro, Manfred Sandoval Alvarado, Luis Diego Navarro Naranjo, Tobi Borbón Navarro, Jerry Calderón Navarro and Álvaro Ureña. The arrested woman, identified as Aida Fernández, must sign every 15 days, cannot communicate with the other accused, and must maintain a fixed address.
These people were arrested in a series of operations carried out by the Judicial Investigation Agency, the Public Ministry and the Directorate of Intelligence and Security.
Gutiérrez Pizarro was pointed out by the police authorities as the leader of this group who, on June 26th, threw explosives in the Legislative Assembly and detonated others in Teletica, on July 27th.
On September 14th, a man was arrested in El Guarco de Cartago, with an explosive that had “shrapnel” inside, which means he could have a range of up to 300 meters.
Apparently, this man was heading to the National Park where an event would take place.
Espinoza said this group had an ideological affinity to destabilize the government in office.
