Suspects of creating a criminal network at INFOCOOP are free

The Second Circuit of San José released those suspected of creating a criminal network that diverted more than 9 billion colones from the National Institute of Cooperative Development (INFOCOOP).

The defendants are not able to leave the country, they must appear in court every fifteen days, they can’t contact witnesses and they lost the job positions they had.

The Public Ministry filed charges against six people, suspected of using their leading position to manipulate appointments in the cooperative sector. In addition, they are accused of granting irregular loans to 11 cooperatives that did not meet the requirements.
