The Swiss airline Edelweisss announced that it will add a third weekly flight in September. Currently, the Airbus A340-300 operates the route on Tuesdays and Fridays, and from September onwards it will also fly on Sundays.
The company reported that it transported approximately 80% European and 20% Costa Rican passengers in its first nine months here.
According to the company, Costa Rica was chosen as a destination due to the mix of beauty, culture and adventure it offers to its visitors, for standing out in the ecotourism sector and for the stability of its tourism policy.
The executive director of Edelweiss, Bernd Bauer, visited Costa Rica this month to announce the new frequency and participate in a program of Corporate Social Responsibility of the company. This airline is part of the Lufthansa group.
