Ten Costa Ricans will participate in the first edition of the Young Leaders of the Americas initiative, which was established by Barack Obama, President of the United States.
The beneficiaries are Deborah Chavarria, Alberto Collado, Ignacio Cubero, Karla Delgado, Omara Fuks, Andrés Gamba, Eduardo Leitón, Jorge Mena, Alonso Quesada and Erick Ramírez. Their businesses are related to sports, architecture, design, tourism and gastronomy, among others.
Young Leaders is the exchange program, launched in 2016, that offers 250 scholarships to Latin American people. Costa Ricans will leave the country on October 5th and the program will run until November 12th.
The group will go to Dallas, Texas, where they will attend a 5-day special workshop and then they will travel to another city to work with their mentors. 22 cities are part of this initiative.
At the end of the five-week period, US participants will go to to Latin America to continue the collaboration.
The goal is to encourage approximately 50 businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean along with the United States.
