The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) is racing against the clock due to the full implementation of the Electronic Record in the Ebais. The dealine is near and there are some unfinished issues.
According to María del Rocío Sáenz, CEO of the CCSS, the national coverage ranges from 75% to 90%.
From the 1,004 Ebais that the CCSS manages:
-710 fully are using the Family Record System (Siff).
-811 are working with the Integrated Appointment System (SIAC).
-675 are working with the Unified Digital Health Record (Edus).
However, Sáenz declared that some areas have Internet coverage problems and other are difficult to access. As consequence, she believes it won’t be possible to reach them this year.
The Electronic File Project, that was also intended for national hospitals, has a little more time (up to the 2018) to be implemented.
