Some of the permits requested by the Board of Port Administration and the Economic Development of the Atlantic (JAPDEVA) are for a huge works that will improve the rainwater drainage system. Other permits aim to perform municipal works, such as road maintenance.
Regarding the type of work, the highest concentration of square meters of construction is related to housing projects (3,290,558 m2), with a growth of 15% over the previous year. As for the type of commercial work (business premises, offices and shopping centers, among others) the growth is 29% compared to 2015, for a total of 1,817,202 m2. In contrast, the industrial sector has a 32% drop.
The results of the first nine months of 2016 show growth for both public and private projects.
