According to the Mexican Foreign Ministry, the deportations from the United States of a mother and a young student violate the law, because none of the migrants represents a security risk or has a criminal record.
The Foreign Ministry was referring to Maribel Trujillo, a mother of four American children, who arrested in Fairfield, Ohio, and Juan Manuel Montes, arrested in Calexico, California, despite a decree that prevents the deportation of children of illegal immigrants who arrived in the United States United when they were children.
According to the press, Montes, 23, who was deported in February, is the first beneficiary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) expelled from the United States, contravening the purpose of that regulation, signed in 2012 by former President Barack Obama.
At least three dreamers, as the 750,000 people protected by that decree are also called, have been detained since President Donald Trump took office in January.
Trump has toughened immigration regulations to honor its electoral promise to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants. He also promised to build a gigantic wall on the Mexican border.
The Mexican government evaluates the possibility of appealing to justice in order to enforce the rule of law.
