According to data from the National Seismological Network of the University of Costa Rica, at 6:15 am on Monday there was a 4.2-degree earthquake, 25 kilometers south of Jacó, which is occupied by vacationers on holy days.
The movement had a depth of 17 kilometers and was caused by the collision of plates. There is no report of damage or injured people.
After 8:30 a.m. Another earthquake occurred 43 kilometers southwest of Sámara in Guanacaste. This movement had a magnitude of 2 degrees and a depth of 32 kilometers. This last earthquake wasn’t really perceived by people, only the instruments registered it.
