The National Stadium was ruled out for the transfer of powers to be held on May 8th, when president-elect Carlos Alvarado will take office.
According to Alvarado, this would generate more expenses and he and his team want this to be a simple event, due to the country’s fiscal situation. He also promised that it would be democratic and inclusive, and that any Costa Rican who wants to go, can do it.
This was stated on Monday morning when, on the outskirts of the condominium where he lives in Santa Ana, he spoke before the cameras for the first time after the elections. For now, he said that they have not selected the site where the transfer will take place and that the details of the activity are not yet fine-tuned.
