Some 20 sites in different provinces are under alert because of the ‘strong rainy activity’ forecast by the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).
In a report released at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, the institute said that the influence of the tropical depression in the Caribbean Sea could increase from Wednesday night to Thursday morning.
The projection is that the depression will turn into a tropical storm.
Heavy rain showers are expected with isolated electrical storm, as well as moderate to strong wind gusts in all regions of the Pacific with accumulated 60 to 120 millimeters (mm) from 3 to 6 hours. In the Central Valley and the North Zone rainfall of variable intensity and occasional wind gusts are expected, with amounts of 40 to 80 mm,”
said the IMN.

15. San Rafael de Oreamuno.
16. Moravia.
17. Pérez Zeledón.
18. San José.
19. Heredia.
20. Alajuela.
The Central Pacific, North and South, the Central Valley and the North Huetar region are under a red alert, while the Caribbean went from green to yellow alert.
