The ceremony for transfer of powers will be held today in Plaza de la Democracia in San José and therefore several streets and avenues in the perimeter of the place will be closed.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) reported that road closures will be in force for both vehicles and pedestrians.
On Tuesday, people will not be able to enter the surroundings of Plaza de la Democracia from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pedestrian closures will start from Avenida 1, Avenida 6, and Calle 11, Calle 19.
For vehicles there will be no transit from La Merced Park and to the La California Neighborhood as follows:
– From 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Total closure with regulated transit on Paseo Colón: between 4th and 19th streets.
-From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Closing on Second Avenue, in front of Plaza de la Democracia.
To get to Plaza de la Democracia there will be three access points:
North Access:
-Avenue 1, 11th street (Store Corner Juan Bansbach).
-Avenue 1, 19th street (Southeast corner of the National Park).
South Access:
– Avenue 6, 15th street (100 meters south of Nuestra Tierra Restaurant).
The activities will start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at about 1 p.m. At 4 p.m., there will be a concert with Malpaís, Ghandi, MasterKey, Bernardo Quesada, and other groups for all audiences.
