These areas are under green alert for rains

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) maintains the green alert in some areas of the country due to the rains of the last days and the forecast for this week.

This Monday they reported that the yellow alert was lowered to green alert in North Zone, North Caribbean, Sarapiquí and Río Cuarto and the green alert is maintained in the Central Valley, Central Pacific and North.

The Municipal and Local Emergency Committees report a substantial improvement in the presence of rains in the affected sectors,”

said the entity.

It’s likely that the rains will remain in some areas this week, where windy conditions are also expected, according to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).

With the beginning of the rainy season in the Caribbean and the Northern Zone of the country, the CNE has taken a series of measures to address any emergency that may arise due to the rains of the season or other factors such as high winds, falling trees or in major cases due to floods and landslides.

The CNE has proposed to increase the attention and response capabilities in the event of any adverse event that may arise due to climatic effects; we are in constant coordination with the technical entities to monitor the behavior by climate, and to make the decisions that we believe convenient to assist the population,”

said Alexander Solís, president of the CNE.
