The hopes of generating their own income and living in better conditions are set on this fishing boat.
37 families from Puntarenas will benefit with an agreement signed by the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS) and the self-managed Cooperative of Maritime Services (Coopersamar RL).
This alliance allowed the purchase of the vessel to fulfill the promise of improving the social, cultural and economic conditions of groups of people affected by poverty.
This project is also implemented with technical support from the Costa Rican Institute of Fishing and Aquaculture (INCOPESCA) and the contribution of a ¢ 15 million credit for working capital and support through training, by the National Institute for Cooperative Development (INFOCOP).
The Cooperative must supervise the development of the project, while IMAS will supervise the correct use of the resources.
