A total of ¢ 6,500 million and $ 3,5 million (about $ 2,000 million)are still not withdrawn from the checking and savings accounts of Banco Crédito Agrícola de Cartago (Bancrédito), despite the fact that the bank set the deadline last Friday.
These amounts represent 10% of the initial balance in colones and 11% of the initial balance in dollars.
For those who have not yet taken their money, the bank has granted a grace period and will maintain the possibility of making withdrawals at the main offices in Cartago and downtown San José.
The bank’s 41 ATMs have been out of service since last Friday and will be part of the assets that the bank will put on sale.
With regard to the loan portfolio, the total for sale was around ₡ 450,000 million, taking into account both currencies. Not even half of that figures has been sold.
If customers have not yet received the notice of canceling their credit at another bank, they must continue to do so at Bancrédito.
