Tremor in the South Zone might have triggered Parrita’s earthquake

The 4.9 earthquake that occurred at 7:02 pm this Sunday in Parrita in the Central Pacific could be related to that of 1:24 pm, in Corredores, south of the country.

It is very likely that one triggered the other. That is, although they occur at a great distance, one could have activated the other,”

said officials of the National Emergency Commission.

In both earthquakes, only material damage is reported, there is no data of people injured as a result of seismic movements.

The first one caused the most damage in the Southern Zone and Panama. There are reports of a fallen dock in the Canal territory.
