A 3.5-degree earthquake shook the area near the canton of Pérez Zeledón on Tuesday.
The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) reported the earthquake at 3:33 p.m., with a depth of 5 kilometers and an epicenter 5.7 kilometers northeast of San Isidro de El General.
Users in social networks, mainly those who live in areas near the epicenter, confirmed having perceived the tremor with moderate to strong intensities.
The telluric movement is related to a local fault.
