As of December 18th, a new route to three points will connect Vancuver, a Canadian city, with San José and Liberia on national soil.
The airline Air Transat will operate this triangular route twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from December until April 25th.
The flight will depart from Canadian soil at 6.30 am local time and arrive in Liberia at 5.25 pm Costa Rican time, with a stop at the Santamaría. Later, the aircraft will leave for Canada at 6.40 pm and arrive at Vancuver at 12.20 midnight, local time.
An important point is that the trip can start or end with the same ticket, despite having these stops.
“This is an opportunity to multiply the number of tourists, generate employment, and strengthen Costa Rica as a tourist destination,” said Maria Amalia Revelo, Minister of Tourism.
Air Transat currently flies to Montreal (twice a week) and Toronto (three times) from Santamaría; while it has two weekly frequencies to each of those destinations from Daniel Oduber in Liberia.
