It is an artisan beer, made by four young innovators. They are Isaac Elizondo, Adrian Aguero, Isaiah Ureña and Cristian Solís, all of them are from Santa María de Dota.
With a strong innovative spirit, they decided to use the prestige and recognition of the coffee produced in their area and to take advantage of the booming, artisan beer in Costa Rica. By combining both elements, they created Meriche, unique in the country and made with Costa Rican, premium coffee.
In addition, all the work is made having the environment in mind and with the collaboration of different companies in the area and people who harvest coffee to farms that use the remains of barley and yeast to feed their animals or produce fertilizer.
The 4 entrepreneurs want to position their product in the national market. While they are looking for new ways to innovate with their brand, the company is already experimenting with new flavors.
Meriche was presented at Viva el Café Festival, organized by the iCafe, where it won the first place in the category “Ideas in Espresso”.
It is currently in the process of marketing management for its national distribution.
