TSE accepted appeal against PUSC

The authorities of the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC) must give explanations. The Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) accepted the appeal filed by the pre-candidates Rafael Ortiz and Miguel Carabaguíaz against the party for the high costs of inscription of their ballots.

Not later than Friday the heads of the party must justify the reasons to charge ¢ 40 million to the presidential candidates and ¢ 35 thousand for each district ballot.

According to Ortiz and Carabaguíaz the party intends to pay back its debts with the money that is collected with the inscriptions, which is illegal.

The electoral insitution decided to provide the opportunity for the party to make a statement, and it also suspended the fees for Ortiz and Carabaguíaz.

In addition to this dispute, the social-Christians are engaged in a discussion about the rules for the election of their candidates for the Legislative Assembly.
