Turrialba volcano is in constant activity. According to the latest report from the National Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) and the National Seismological Network, a new eruption took place on Sunday at about 5:55 am.
According to OVSICORI, this new activity lasted 35 minutes and the column rose to 800 meters above the height of the crater.
Winds are blowing South. As consequence, the ash is affecting areas such as La Pastora, Pacayas de Alvarado, Jiménez and Cervantes.
