Turrialba Volcano has been emitting ash constantly for 10 days

Turrialba volcano maintains constant ash emanations since July 23th, according to the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI).

In a statement on Facebook, the scientific institution noted that

although the eruptions have not reached great heights, the consistency of emissions has allowed this ash to be seen in several areas of the Central Valley.”

They indicated that section of the pilgrimage route to the Basilica de los Ángeles in Cartago ,

may be affected by the fall of this material, so it is necessary to take preventive measures, mostly for those suffering from respiratory conditions.”

The wind has remained in a west-northwest direction.

The emissions would affect areas such as: Turrialba Volcano, Coronado, San Jerónimo, Granadilla, Guadalupe, Ipís, Moravia, Tibás, San José, Pavas, Zapote, Curridabat, San Pedro, Sabanilla, Heredia, San Isidro, Santo Domingo, San Rafael, Santa Barbara, Barva, Finca Central, Finca Silvia, Finca San Bosco, Finca Lara, Finca Echandi, Finca Volio, San Gerardo Dairy, Irazú Volcano National Park, Braulio Carrillo National Park, among other nearby places.
