Two days of celebration in Miami after Fidel Castro’s death

Cubans celebrated in front of the emblematic Café Versailles on Calle 8, which for decades was the meeting place of the Cuban community in exile, but they rarely celebrated. This time, they’ve been singing and dancing for two days.

Fidel Castro died on November 25th, in Havana at the  age of 90. His death was announced by his brother Raul Castro, current, Cuban president.

Fifteen blocks further east, in The Ball & Chain salsa club, a classic among the residents and a tourist place, offered discounts and promoted a new cocktail: “Farewell Fidel”.

Now we hope that, without Fidel, his communism will fall and if God permits us, we will return to our free country,

declared 65-year-old Vicente Abrez.
