2 young men, who were in the middle of an islet in a river, were rescued by the Fire Department.
The incident occurred in Pedregoso of San Isidro del General in Perez Zeledón, near a bridge in the town.
Apparently both men, of about 20 years old, were washing a motorcycle when a flash flood took place and trapped them on the islet.
Both were rescued and taken by a unit of the Red Cross in stable condition at a medical center, one of them had a broken arm.
An operator, who had a backhoe in the sector, collaborated with the rescue.
