Uber works in Costa Rica, between lights and shadows, since August 21st, 2015, but only in the Greater Metropolitan Area.
Since then, the company has operated with the big question of whether the services will one day be available in other parts of the national territory far away from the Central Valley and now, it seems that that moment has arrived.
CRHoy.com checked and found that you can request the service through the application mobile in San Carlos and San Isidro de El General (Pérez Zeledón).
This Saturday, services available in Ciudad Quesada, San Isidro de El General and Tamarindo were consulted, and they all worked.
For example, in the case of Ciudad Quesada, a trip between the Carlos Ugalde Álvarez stadium and the San Carlos Liceo was consulted. In this journey, the rate marked by the app was 985 colones.
The same happened in San Isidro de El General. A trip between the municipal stadium of Pérez Zeledón and the municipal building was 842 colones. Several vehicles were available on the map (as in San Carlos).
Something similar happened in Tamarindo de Guanacaste. In that town, a trip between the Tamarindo Diriá hotel and the Supercompro supermarket was requested for an estimated rate of 737 colones.
It is necessary to remember that weeks ago, within the framework of Holy Week, the company sent an email to its drivers (identified as partners-collaborators) to inform about the opening of services at tourist sites in Guanacaste and Puntarenas.
