Uber promised to refund the money to Karina Monge: the application charged her ₡ 82,000 for a less-than-5-kilometer trip.
Her case was known on December 5th. Initially, the trip had cost 2,675 colones. But the application updated the rate twice on its favor.
Julie Robinson, Communications Manager for Central Uber, said that it was an involuntary mistake and the company will make the appropriate reimbursement.
The affected person confirmed the information. However, the bad experience make her distrust the application.
