Ultralight aircraft was camouflaged in a remote area of Guanacaste

During a preventive aerial patrol carried out by the personnel of the Directorate of the Air Surveillance Service (SVA) of the Ministry of Public Security, an abandoned ultralight aircraft was found camouflaged in a remote area in Bagaces de Guanacaste.

The event occurred during last weekend, when the pilots and police of the SVA observed, from the air, what appeared to be a track, and near it an aircraft in the wooded area and covered with a green canvas.

The SVA then carried out a ground work together with the Public Force and the Drug Control Police (PCD). Guided from the air by pilots and police of the SVA, the group of officers walked for about three hours to get to the aircraft.

This was stated by the director of SVA, Commander Juan Luis Vargas, who indicated that

this aircraft had a blow to the propeller. The officers carried out a search, they also did it with technical personnel and canine agents, who ruled out the presence of drugs.”

This type of aircraft has characteristics that allow it to land in confined spaces, its operation is easy and low cost.
