Minister of Labor Carlos Alvarado informed at a press conference that unemployment in poor households has been reduced during 2016.
Last week, results on the poverty rate in Costa Rica were released and they showed a decline for the first time in 7 years.
The Government highlighted as a key element that most people in poor families have a job.
According to the National Survey, from 2015 to 2016, unemployment in these households decreased from 25.4% to 21, 9%. It means that more than 10,500 households in need have found work.
