After the raids conducted in San Francisco de Dos Ríos campus at the Universidad de San José for alleged sales of diplomas, the institution categorically rejected this issue, but on Wednesday the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) declared that the diplomas were sold in 3 to 5 million colones each.
Authorities presume that the sold diplomas are master’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees in Law, Nutrition, Accounting, Business Administration and Education.

said Angelica Lopez, spokeswoman for the university.
The National Council of Higher Private University Education (CONESUP) explained that if found guilty, the university could be closed for a year.
