Unrecognizable bodies are difficulting investigations

Due to their conditions, the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) is having a hard time identifying the bodies found after the fire of León XIII, in Tibás.

They would probably require DNA tests to confirm their identities.

The Department of Legal Medicine is analyzing the skeletal remains to determine if it is a man, a woman or child. We do not have that information. There are at least 4 bodies, but there could be more,

declared official Ernesto Durán.

The OIJ arrested a man named Jiménez Peraza as the main suspect. He was accused by the neighbors as responsible for causing the flames. Apparently, a dispute with his partner could have triggered Jiménez’s anger.

The flames consumed an area of more than 2 thousand square meters of construction. It is estimated that almost 200 people lost their houses.
