Upala suffers the consequences of rains again

The rains of the last days have hit Upala, an area that once again suffers with flooded houses and disabled roads, shortly after the passage of Hurricane Otto, which left its mark in November 2016.

In the National Commission of Emergencies (CNE) they informed that the land between Brasilia and La Cruz collapsed due to Achiote River, causing a huge gap that makes transit impossible. Several flooded homes and trapped cattle are reported due to the large amount of water that has fallen in the area.

Lidier Esquivel, head of Risk Research and Analysis of the entity, said the reports include Upala, La Cruz de Guanacaste, Corredores, and Coto Brus.
