From this Monday, and April 19th, the vehicular restriction will not be applied to enter the central area of San José.
The measure is taken because in Easter the number of vehicles in the capital is lower, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT).
By not applying the restriction, Transit officials can focus on control tasks related to Easter operation, which favors the control of the routes that allow leaving and returning from the Central Valley,”
reported the entity.
The restriction will be applied again on April 22nd, when the bulk of drivers return to normal activities.
The restriction by plate number is applied in San José, taking into account the ring road route to the downtown area of the capital, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. beginning with the plates ending in one or two on Mondays and ending on Friday with the plates whose last digit is nine or zero.
The penalty for disrespecting this measure is ¢22,859.95.
