Luisa Ortega, former prosecutor general of Venezuela, removed from her position by the government of Nicolás Maduro, took on Twitter to express her support to the Attorney General of Costa Rica, Jorge Chavarría.
Chavarría is under the scrutiny of the public opinion and the Supreme Court of Justice for his inaction and weakness in the decision making with sound cases of corruption that have occurred in the country in recent years, such as the cementazo.
The Costa Rican prosecutor, who has been in charge of the Public Ministry for seven years, is currently being investigated at the request of the President of the Court, Carlos Chinchilla.
I support the Attorney General of Costa Rica, Jorge Chavarría. I call for the union of the Public Ministries of Ibero-America,”
said Ortega amid rumors that several magistrates will ask Chavarría for his resignation.
