Several families who were staying in a shelter in Sarapiquí already returned to their homes, after the water level rose following the rains that began last Thursday.
The National Emergency Commission (CNE) carries out several operations in the cantons of the North Zone and the Caribbean, in order to determine the damages caused by the floods that mainly affected roads and homes.
According to Sigifredo Pérez, head of Operations of the entity, the rainy conditions in the area have already dropped considerably and the officials of the Municipal Emergency Committees have delivered supplies to those affected in Cureña, Cureñita and Las Vegas del Tigre, near San River Juan, as well as in Delta Costa Rica, Delta Colorado, Boca del Sarapiquí, Fatima and San Antonio sectors, near Calero Island.
At the moment the green alert is maintained in these areas.
