A group of volunteers celebrated the World Water Day by cleaning the Torres River in the capital and they were surprised by the bag they were able to fill with cellphone parts.
In addition, the group of at least 25 volunteers collected plastic bottles, garbage and cloths that were in the river, located in the vicinity of the Children’s Museum.
As explained by Natalie Carballo, representative of the National Chamber of Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism (CANAECO), after an alliance with the Friends of the Torres River Association, the campaign was launched to raise awareness among the population to take care of water resources.
