Some 145 thousand residents of some sectors of Santa Ana, Escazú, Alajuelita, and Desamparados won’t have a drinking water supply for an indefinite period.
This was reported by the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) after a massive leak in the pipeline on Route 27.
The affected sectors are:
Santa Ana: Downtown, Don Lalo, Gavilanes, Concepción, La Chispa, Pozos, Obando, Valle Soleado, Lajas, Casa Blaca, Pilas Street, Santa Ana Forests, Honduras, and surroundings.
Escazú: Downtown, San Rafael, Corazón de Jesús, Rosalinda, Bello Horizonte, Anonos, Trejos Montealegre, Maynard, Los Elíseos, Altos de Bello Horizonte, Santa Teresa, Profesores, Santa Eduviges, Vista de Oro, Guachipelín (northern sector of Route 27) Loma Real, El Carmen, Bebedero, Real de Pereira, and surroundings.
Alajuelita: Downtown, San Felipe, La Aurora, Tejarcillos, San Josecito, El Alto Street, Concepción, El Tejar, and surroundings.
Desamparados: San Rafael Abajo, Valencia, Vizcaya, News, Alpino, Méndez, Los Angeles, Santa Cecilia, Tolima, Maiquetía, and surroundings.
