Whale watching festival celebrates 10 years

Festival de Ballenas y Delfines Costa Rica

The ninth month of the year will surprise thousands of Costa Rican and foreign tourists with whale and dolphin sightings in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The natural display is scheduled from September 7th to 9th and 15th to 16th, in the middle of the celebration of the 10 years of the Festival of whale and dolphin sightings, in the National Marine Park Ballena, in Uvita.

The warm sea, the climatic conditions and the geographic location of Costa Rica favor the sighting of cetaceans this time of the year.

The Ballena Marine National Park is recognized nationally and internationally for the annual visit of different species of cetaceans such as the humpback whale, the pilot whale, the bryde whale, bottlenose dolphins, spotted dolphins, and sea turtles.

For the enjoyment of the visitors, MTB and athletics races will also be held, as well as samples of crafts, souvenirs, art, and products from the area.
