An official of the Calderón Guardia Hospital received more than 2.5 million colones for a maternity leave that apparently was not hers.
Although the 28-year-old woman named Rodriguez had a daughter in March 2014, she took the payment for the period from February 24th to June 25th of that year, without being entitled to this amount.
Apparently, the woman hadn’t been in the institution for more than seven months.
The investigation remains open according to the press office of the hospital.
As estimated, property damage was ¢ 2,545,132.
The process further explains that if she were held responsible for this, Rodriguez must face consequences with another woman named Campos, who not only was the head of human resources of the hospital in 2014, but also Rodríguez’ maternal aunt.
Rodríguez has now the right to provide evidence, arguments, and witnesses to Office of the Director of Nursing, where the record will be maintained.
