Every month, the Department of Transit Engineering receives 600 reports on malfunctioning Traffic lights and they estimate that due to the rainy season, that number may increase. Therefore, users have several ways to report the failures.
In the Metropolitan Area they can take care of reported traffic lights within 24 hours. However, in rural areas it could be a little longer because of the distance.
The options for the reports are as follow:
Fill an online report in the the website www.mopt.go.cr, top menu “Servicios-Reporte de Semáforos.
Report the malfunction through social networks such as Facebook Semáforos de Costa Rica; Twitter Semáforos CR; Skype Semáforos CR or send an email to semaforoscr@gmail.com.
It also can be reported by calling toll-free to: 800-SEMAFORO (800-7362-3676), 911 and 2255-3425 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
It is very important to provide the damaged traffic light’s accurate address and if possible, a brief description of the problem.
