Sofía Guzmán
Just a couple of months ago Sofía Guzmán was diagnosed with lung cancer, but she wanted to fight for her young children, Mariano, Luciano and Mia.
However, the 30-year-old lost the battle and died on Monday night, in Max Peralta Hospital.
Her story was made public through the site Go Fund me, where her cousins set up a fund raising to help her pay her debts, since she was no longer allowed to work, while studying the options for the treatment.
The fund raising is still active, with only $15,000 of the $30,000 wanted for this family from Cartago.
